 | | Time to get healthy and ready to take on the Angels! OK... So admittedly not the best way to clinch a playoff spot, but the important thing is that we're in with a few days to get prepped and get our house in order. A skeleton crew of Red Sox Front Office members and players stayed to watch the end of the Angels-Rangers game and celebrated in the clubhouse together. From what they tell me, the celebration was "wet and wild" and entailed a lot of the same sorts of shenanigans we've (fortunately) become accustomed to in watching the team celebrate in previous years. They also tell me that one of our Japanese interpreters took the award for most popular champagne target. So my Insider Poll for you this week is this: what would you like to see the team do this week? Rest everybody and protect them from getting hurt? Rest some guys while playing others to keep them fresh? Or just go out there and play everyone like usual? Let me know by voting in the Red Sox Insider Poll! Also, I'd be interested to hear how you think our rotation should work. Who should our number 1-4 starters be? E-mail me at insider@redsox.com and let me know what you think. Now, before I say what I'm about to say, let me please preface it by saying that by no means do I think we're a lock to make the ALCS. With that said, I did want to make you aware that in the case that we are so fortunate (which I repeat: is not guaranteed) to make it to the ALCS, I want you to know that this Friday is the deadline to register for the ALCS postseason ticket opportunity drawing. So go register if you're feeling lucky and aren't too superstitious. Now let's finish strong and get ready for the Angels! All the best from a very happy (albeit tired) Front Office, The Voice of the Nation p.s. -- Check out Two Truths and Lie about CLAY BUCHHOLZ below! p.p.s. -- For those of you interested in who are Minor League stars of the future may be, check out our 2009 Minor League Award Winners! As for the stars for this year's club, based on last week's "Pesky" Poll, you decided that Jason Bay was this year's team MVP (37%) followed by Youk (24%) and Jacoby (18%). Don't forget to vote in this week's "Pesky" Poll! | | |
